ISTE Coaching Standard 2: Teaching, Learning, & Assessments

The evidence of the theoretical and practical foundation for teaching and coaching presented here include course and module designs for writing and literature courses that demonstrate my strengths in combining disciplinary pedagogies with digital pedagogies to transform student learning, increase student self-agency, and support other faculty in adding the roles of designer, guide, mediator, mentor, and collaborator to their teaching portfolios.

The work presented in this standard is closely tied with my Standard 3 portfolio page, which address my framework for teaching writing, responding to the accountability/assessment context, and implementing digital pedagogies to serve both.

My pedagogical and epistemological praxis of teaching, learning, and assessment rests upon coursework and experience in program- and administrator-level assessment development, my coursework and teaching in Digital Education Leadership, and my understanding of learning and writing theory as based on the cognitive, metacognitive, socio-rhetorical, cultural, neurobiological and affective constructs of writing pedagogies as well as on the constructionist/connectivist foundations of current digital pedagogies.

ISTE Standard for Coaches 2: Teaching, Learning, & Assessments Technology coaches assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences for all students.
