ISTE Coaching Standard 4: Professional Development & Program Evaluation

ISTE Standard for Coaches 4: Professional Development and Program Evaluation – Technology coaches conduct needs assessments, develop technology-related professional learning programs, and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning.

In my work on program and faculty development, one of my primary interests is to develop discipline-specific and research-supported pedagogical frameworks while also providing leadership in addressing the accountability practices that can shape pedagogy for better or worse.

My projects addressing this standard include putting the literature on writing assessment practices and on professional development models associated with high-performing institutions into conversation with the assumptions and practices of the accountability models and movements that currently shape both higher and K-12 education.
